U.S. Embassy Zagreb is hosting the fifth annual Brown Forum on Fostering the ICT Ecosystem, April 14-15 in Osijek, Croatia. This year in conjunction with the Brown Forum, we will also host Geek Business Camp, an ICT-focused start-up camp, in which 30 young ICT entrepreneurs from across Europe will spend four days learning how to develop their software startup ideas into viable businesses.
*We need your help to spread the word among young tech entrepreneurs and students in your country!*
We’d be grateful if you could share the attached announcement with institutions, groups and individuals with contacts in the tech entrepreneurship and university communities. We’ve also attached text and the logo for use on Facebook and Twitter.
What is it?
Geek Business Camp will take place at Hotel Osijek from Sunday, April 12 until Wednesday, April 15, 2015.
During the camp, participants will present their ideas for a start-up ICT business. Through a variety of teambuilding exercises, workshops and individual coaching challenges, they will hone their ideas and develop an actual product or business. Seven venture capitalists and businesspeople from the United States and Croatia will mentor the participants, evaluate their projects, and select the best proposals to compete at the end of the camp. Three winners will receive prizes and everyone will have the opportunity to meet with potential investors attending the Brown Forum.
How does it work?
Anyone between ages 18 and 35 can apply – the organizers will select 30 participants and cover the cost of lodging in the city of Osijek, as well as all meals, for one or two members per team.
More information about mentors, the program and the application process are all on the Brown Forum website: http://brownforum.net/pages/geek-business-camp. Application deadline is March 14!
